Anritsu releases multi-use Network Master Pro MT1040A portable 400G network tester
Anritsu Co. has released the Network Master Pro MT1040A, a portable 400G network test instrument that enables technicians to evaluate transmission quality on networks operating from 10 Mbps to 400 Gbps. The test instrument vendor says the MT1040A can be used across a number of applications, include the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of communications devices, transceivers, cables, networks, and data centers.
The Network Master Pro MT1040A will accommodate QSFP-DD and OSFP multi-rate modules and break-out cables up to 400G with native SFP+/SFP28, QSFP, and OSFP interfaces. Technicians can use the instrument to perform forward error correction (FEC) verification as well as bit error rate (BER), throughput, and latency measurements.
The test instrument can be used in a variety of applications, including verification of high-speed network cables and devices; private and distributive networks; access, metro, and core network evaluation; mobile edge computing; and data center TOR/COR equipment, including those that address 5G application services. It can be used on networks of many types, including 400 Gigabit Ethernet, OTN, eCPRI/RoE/CPRI/OBSAI, and Fibre Channel.
In addition to a built-in 400 Gigabit Ethernet FEC analysis function, the Network Master Pro MT1040A can be configured with compatible OTDR modules to simultaneously conduct optical line measurements to troubleshoot fiber faults, Anritsu adds. Linking two MT1040A instruments can enable technicians to measure the throughput and latency between two remote points using GPS.
The battery-powered MT1040A features a 9-inch touch panel. Measurements are simplified via a built-in remote control over network capability, as well as automatic test functions and multiple pass/fail evaluations that technicians can perform by pressing a single button, Anritsu concludes.
