AFL offers ROGUE OLTS Certifier for enterprise, service provider fiber networks
AFL says it now offers the ROGUE OLTS Certifier. The certifier comprises a pair of units, each of which features a test port that measures insertion loss, return loss, and length bi-directionally to Tier 1 industry standards as well as customer parameters. The ROGUE OLTS will measure the performance of multimode and single-mode fiber networks, including those of enterprise network and service provider network operators, AFL asserts.
The dual bi-directional test ports on the units enables certification of two single-mode fibers simultaneously and without swapping test cords. Alternatively, technicians can connect the ROGUE models to an optional multi-fiber switch for use with MPO-terminated cables for bi-directional 40 Gigabit Ethernet and 100 Gigabit Ethernet applications.
Additional features include a setup wizard that assists in referencing using encircled flux compliant launch, a dedicated power meter and visual fault identifier for troubleshooting, as well as optional aeRos Pro software to assist in PC- and cloud-based reporting. While the ROGUE OLTS Certifier has a wide range of applications, AFL says the system should prove particularly useful for the certification needs of enterprise networks and the single-fiber circuits often found in optical access networks.
“The new ROGUE OLTS Certifier represents a collaborative effort with customers who asked for a flexible solution that lowered their costs for testing & certifying networks,” explained Arun Jain, director of product marketing for AFL Test & Inspection. “We delivered a product that is easy to use, performs multiple tests on almost every network type, and works online or offline."
