Approved Networks offers 100G QSFP28 Universal optical transceiver
Approved Networks, a brand of Legrand, now offers the 100GBASE QSFP28 Universal optical transceiver for both multimode and single-mode applications. The QSFP28 Universal is designed to provide another option for 100G multimode Lucent Connector environments while offering compatibility with single-mode CDWM4 optics up to 2 km.
“Existing multimode LC solutions are difficult to source – up to 40 weeks in some cases – and they’re more expensive,” commented Brian Patton, vice president, engineering, at Approved Networks. “Our universal solution not only costs less, but is in stock, and offers the single-mode interoperability that no other multimode LC solution has.”
The QSFP28 Universal transceiver, which lists for $699, joins the Approved Networks product family, which includes direct attach copper, active optical cables, active electrical cables, and passive WDM products. The portfolio also includes other optical transceivers for enterprise, managed services, colocation, and cloud data centers.
