The 22nd China International Optoelectronic Expo (CIOE 2020), scheduled for September 9-11, 2020 at Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center, will be held as planned because “the COVID-19 [is] under control within China,” say the event’s organizers, Shenzhen UBM Herong Exhibition Co., Ltd. The trade show, a major event on the optoelectronics technology calendar, will feature 160,000 square meters of exhibit space in three halls, occupied by more than 3,000 companies.
The organizers assert that nearly 95% of companies in China have restarted operations. They note that small conferences with less than 100 people are being organized in infection-free areas of the country. These factors have led Shenzhen UBM Herong to conclude that the way is clear to hold the much larger CIOE in September.
The Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center is a new venue for CIOE, which has inspired the organizers to revamp the exhibition floor into six “sub-expos” focused on different optoelectronics application areas. All of the exhibitors active in this application areas will be grouped together. The six expos include:
- The Information and Communication Expo will highlight optical communication chips, optical components and modules, fiber-optic cable and connectors, systems, test instruments, and related technologies including those applicable to 5G mobile as well as broadcasting. Organizers expect more than 800 companies to exhibit within this expo.
- The Precision Optics Lens and Camera Module Expo
- The Lasers Technology & Intelligent Manufacturing Expo
- The Infrared Applications Expo
- The Optoelectronic Sensor Expo
- The Photonics Innovation Expo will feature exhibits from Chinese universities and national research labs highlighting their work.
