LOGIX Fiber Networks surpasses 300,000 fiber miles in Texas

LOGIX Fiber Networks says its fiber footprint in its home state of Texas now exceeds 300,000 fiber miles and 7000 route miles. The fiber-optic network services provider also now offers 100G wavelength services over portions of that infrastructure.

The company says its fiber network serves almost 10,000 business customers and connects to more than 25,000 near and on-net enterprise buildings. The network also provides connectivity into nearly 100 third-party data centers across the state, with an agreement to connect the new Sabey data center in Round Rock the latest example.

“Achieving this major milestone reflects our dedication to continued growth alongside Texas’ booming business climate and our commitment to providing best-in-class service to our customers,” said Craig Collins, CEO of LOGIX. “We continue to invest in our extensive metro and long-haul network to support our customers’ needs, and we remain bullish on continued expansion throughout the state in the years ahead.”

Meanwhile, the company says it now offers both 10G and 100G wavelength services to enterprise and carrier customers in the “Texas Triangle” of Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio and Houston. (Yes, that’s four major metropolitan centers. But, as you know, they do things bigger in Texas.) LOGIX is relying on Ciena’s 6500 packet optical transport platform, powered by the company’s WaveLogic Ai coherent optics, to support the offering. LOGIX also is using Ciena Services for network integration, reconfiguration and consulting services as it integrates two networks into a cohesive whole.

“Our new waves service will help us support key customer segments such as wholesale, finance and healthcare with the fast, high-capacity connections that today’s bandwidth-intensive services and applications require,” commented Collins.
