Lumen to offer 30-Gbps Ethernet services in more than 40 U.S. markets
Lumen Technologies (NYSE: LUMN) says it expects to be able to offer 30-Gbps Ethernet services via its Lumen Platform to more than 40 U.S. cities by the end of the year. Such services are already available in nine cities, with an equal number expected to come online this month.
The service provider will offer the 30-Gbps rates on Lumen Dedicated Internet Access (DIA), Lumen Cloud Connect, and IP VPN services. Lumen’s standard Ethernet capabilities before the enhancements, which meet Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) 3.0 standards, were 3 Gbps.
The first nine markets to see the 30-Gbps capabilities include:
- Atlanta
- Chicago
- Dallas
- Denver
- Ft Lauderdale
- Los Angeles
- Newark
- Sunnyvale
- Washington, DC.
Next up will be:
- Columbus, OH
- Houston
- Kansas City, MO
- Nashville
- Orlando
- Philadelphia
- Phoenix
- Salt Lake City
- Seattle.
