i3D.net deploys ADVA’s TeraFlex to support online gaming

3D.net supports as many as 50 million online gamers each day, says ADVA.

i3D.net, a Ubisoft company that provides hosting and global infrastructure services, has deployed ADVA’s (FSE: ADV) FSP 3000 TeraFlex to support the demands of online gaming and i3D.net’s enterprise customers. i3D.net supports as many as 50 million online gamers each day, says ADVA, and will leverage the FSP 3000 TeraFlex to provide higher network capacity as well as harness previously unused spectrum, optimize optical paths, and better leverage its fiber infrastructure.

i3D.net’s specific configuration of the ADVA FSP 3000 TeraFlex delivers up to 400 Gbps per wavelength and 800 Gbps per sled. The open and flexible 1RU terminal uses software-defined fractional QAM modulation and adaptive baud rate capabilities to optimize performance.

In addition to supporting online gaming requirements, the TeraFlex terminal also will help i3D.net deliver low-latency video conferencing applications to its enterprise customers. “As one of the world’s leading high-performance hosting providers, we’re constantly striving to deliver an unbeatable experience for end users.
