Options Technology now offers 100G WAN circuits in metro London via hollowcore fiber

Options says it is now in better position to serve global colocation clients as well as provide enhanced point-to-point connectivity capabilities with investment bank-grade security and monitoring.

Options Technology, which provides fiber network connectivity services to capital markets customers, says it has upgraded its core network to 100-Gbps capabilities across “all major London colocation sites.” The upgrade includes the deployment of hollowcore fiber, which Options asserts enables delivery of circuits with the lowest latency available.

The company did not reveal who supplied the fiber.

Options says it is now in better position to serve global colocation clients as well as provide enhanced point-to-point connectivity capabilities with investment bank-grade security and monitoring. “Ensuring customers benefit from full availability, capacity, and the lowest latency is the cornerstone of our market connectivity and colocation business,” stated Options President and CEO Danny Moore. “The 100G upgrade, alongside the adoption of hollowcore fiber, is yet another milestone for the team and a further demonstration of the service excellence, availability, and cutting-edge technology underpinning our colocation ecosystem.”

“A key objective in designing and implementing these routes is to accommodate our clients’ trading strategies in the most efficient way possible. The goal is to create an environment that enables maximum arbitrage execution between the various markets and across asset classes,” added Shamir Parmar, vice president, product management. “With the additional capacity, we can readily absorb ever-increasing market data bandwidth and client traffic flow, further bolstering the delivery of content and services across our global network.”

Founded in 1993 as a hedge fund technology services provider, Options now provides high-performance, secure managed trading infrastructure and cloud-enabled managed services to more than 550 firms globally. Clients include global investment banks, hedge funds, funds of funds, proprietary trading firms, market makers, broker/dealers, private equity houses, and exchanges. Options has offices in New York, Toronto, Chicago, London, Belfast, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, and Auckland. The company received a growth investment from Abry Partners in 2019 that has enabled Options to fund infrastructure upgrades such as this one.
