FiberLight deploys 400G ROADM capabilities via Fujitsu 1FINITY

An existing Fujitsu customer, the company now will use the 1FINITY blades to support the provision of services up to 400 Gigabit Ethernet in Texas.

Fujitsu Network Communications, Inc. says it has supplied its 1FINITY T700 transport blades and L130/L140 ROADM blades to FiberLight, LLC. The fiber-optic network services provider is using the optical transport technology to upgrade its fiber infrastructure in Texas with 400G ROADM capabilities.

FiberLight operates a 17,000-mile fiber network that extends across more than 30 U.S. metropolitan areas. An existing Fujitsu customer, the company now will use the 1FINITY blades to support the provision of services up to 400 Gigabit Ethernet in Texas, complementing FiberLight’s fielded 1FINITY L100 blades (see "FiberLight taps Fujitsu Network Communications for fiber-optic network upgrade"). The 1FINITY T700 transport blades and L130/ L140 ROADM blades will map seamlessly into the Virtuora Network Control platform FiberLight already uses. Fujitsu says FiberLight is the first network operator in the U.S. to deploy the T700 transport blade in combination with the L130/L140 colorless/directionless/contentionless (CDC) ROADM blades.
