U.S. cable MSO WOW! Internet, Cable & Phone (NYSE: WOW) says it has made significant progress in expanding its fiber to the premises (FTTP) footprint in Central Florida. The company says that FTTP roll outs are nearing completion in such communities as Casselberry, Forest City, and Wekiwa Springs. Fairview Shores, Fern Park, Goldenrod, Lake Mary, Longwood, Ocoee, Sanford, Sanlando Springs, Winter Garden, and Winter Springs are seeing FTTP installations as well.
The FTTP deployments, along with a similar initiative in Altamonte Springs, FL, where services are already available, are part of the cable operator’s efforts to pass 400,000 homes with FTTP in new service areas by 2027. WOW! plans to offer internet access at rates up to 5 Gbps. The company also will offer WiFi, voice, and its WOW tv+ service to residential customers as well as a suite of options for businesses.
