Fig1: DSC-705 High Power Balanced Photodiode with Lab Buddy
The DSC705 is a balanced InGaAs photodiode in “push-pull” configuration with each photodiode capable of handling high optical power up to +17 dBm. High Common Mode Rejection Ratio (CMRR) and low Polarization Dependent Loss (PDL) make these devices ideal for analog applications. The broad wavelength response of these photodiodes allows for one device for multiple wavelengths and reduces operational and inventory cost.
These InGaAs balanced photodiodes are ideal for Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) detection schemes as they are shot noise limited. Additionally, they are well suited for applications using high LO powers up to +20 dBm, such as Coherent LIDAR with high dynamic range.
The DSC705 balanced photodiodes are available in either a K-connectorized package or Discovery's turn-key Lab Buddy instrument.
