Windstream Wholesale to connect into ColoHouse data center in Orangeburg, NY
Windstream Wholesale has announced plans to link into the ColoHouse data center in the fifteenfortyseven (1547 CSR) flagship facility in Orangeburg, NY. The service provider expects to have the connection completed in February 2023.
The network services provider says it expects to establish a long-term point of presence (PoP) at the facility for Windstream’s ICON network. The company expects to link to additional data centers in the region in the future as well. The new PoP will support of network footprint expansion to meet growing customer demand for services, including among its new Global Accounts customer vertical. This new unit specializes in providing core backbone data services to Fortune 100 companies including the financial sector.
“These new partnerships support our network growth and the increasing connectivity needs of our customers,” commented Joe Scattareggia, chief revenue officer for Windstream Wholesale. “This connection allows us to provide the most direct path into Manhattan with the lowest latency. We’re able to serve customers and area data centers most effectively and have the crucial advanced point of presence necessary to quickly turn up services for larger customers.”
ColoHouse, at 1 Ramland Rd. in Orangeburg, is positioned 18 miles from Midtown Manhattan near the region’s major highways. ColoHouse’s two data center halls occupy more than 30,000 square feet with an additional 25,000 square feet coming online in 2023 (see “1547 adds capacity to Orangeburg, NY, data center”). The carrier-neutral facility offers low latency to Manhattan and the surrounding New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut areas.
