H5 Data Centers begins construction of Ashburn, VA, data center
H5 Data Centers says it has launched construction of a new data center facility in Ashburn, VA. The planned three-story data center is designed to support 42 MW of critical load across 255,000 square feet. The company expects the facility to be available in the third quarter of 2024.
The new facility will be on Beaumeade Circle and will qualify for Virginia data center sales and use tax exemption. H5 is accepting pre-leasing agreements while construction is ongoing.
“H5 Data Centers is investing extensively across our portfolio and today's announcement of our Ashburn groundbreaking is an exciting start to a busy year of development,” said Josh Simms, founder and CEO of H5 Data Centers. “Upon completion, the data center will provide our customers with the ability to meet their stringent security and reliability requirements.”
While Northern Virginia generally and Ashburn specifically are teeming with data centers, H5 expressed confidence that there’s room for more. “[T]he immense growth of the market has made it difficult for cloud and technology companies to source scalable capacity,” the company stated in a press release.
