Crosslake Fibre connects to Cologix Toronto facility

The point of presence enable others in TOR1 to connect with Crosslake Fibre’s fiber network to New York and Chicago.

Network-neutral interconnection and hyperscale edge data center services provider Cologix says that Crosslake Fibre has contracted for space and power services in Cologix’s TOR1 facility. The point of presence enable others in TOR1 to connect with Crosslake Fibre’s fiber network to New York and Chicago (see “Crosslake Fibre fiber-optic network from Toronto to New York enters service”).

Crosslake Fibre’s routes to New York and Chicago feature a route across Lake Ontario (see “Crosslake Fibre plans submarine cable across Lake Ontario”). It originally connected to Equinix data centers, but the company now has expanded access with the PoP in Cologix’s TOR1.

“Cologix 151 Front Street is a highly strategic location for interconnection to our unique network services,” commented Fergus Innes, chief commercial officer of Crosslake Fibre. “No other provider had the combination of location, access, space, capability, and service. The Cologix platform gives us access to more markets, carriers, clouds, and countries. Cologix is in tune with the growing demand for subsea connectivity and is well positioned to scale alongside us.”

Cologix operates seven suites at TOR1. The 151 Front Street location also is home to the Toronto Internet Exchange (TorIX). Overall, the Cologix ecosystem in North America includes more than 20,000 interconnections, 600 networks, and 300 cloud providers as well as 29 onramps.
