fifteenfortyseven Critical Systems Realty (1547) says it has added new data hall capacity in the company’s flagship Orangeburg, NY, data center. To help customers take advantage of the new capacity, 1547 says it has arranged sales tax abatements with Rockland County, NY, officials.
The capacity expansion adds another 16,800 square feet of white space and 2 MW of power. Meanwhile, the sales tax abatement applies on new hardware for data center and colocation customers coming into Orangeburg. 1547 estimates the abatements can shave 8.35% on qualified capital purchases.
1547 says the capacity expansion comes in response to growing demand for use of the Orangeburg facility, from which the company can offer connections to 60 Hudson Street in New York City with less than 1-msec roundtrip latency.
“We are excited about the completion of this additional space and power to our flagship location,” says J. Todd Raymond, CEO and managing partner of 1547. “Our Orangeburg data center facility will continue to meet the increasing demand of space, power and connectivity for our customers in the New York metropolitan area.”
Overall, 1547 has more than 1.1 million square feet of data center space under management throughout North America and Europe.
