Based in Belgium and with offices in Europe, Brazil, and the United States, Skylane develops and supplies optical and copper transceivers, direct-attach cables (DACs), active optical cables (AOCs), multiplexers, and coding boxes (TCS).

Halo Technology Group says it has expanded its portfolio of optical modules, as well as its reach, with the acquisition of Skylane Optics. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Based in Belgium and with offices in Europe, Brazil, and the United States, Skylane develops and supplies optical and copper transceivers, direct-attach cables (DACs), active optical cables (AOCs), multiplexers, and coding boxes (TCS). Halo mentioned Skylane’s CFP-DCO module as a salient addition to Halo’s current line. In addition, Halo expects to leverage Skylane's patented Anaconda production system to improve the production capacity, automation, and manufacturing efficiencies of its overall operations.

Skylane is Halo’s third acquisition since its formation in 2017 by London-based Inflexion Private Equity Partners. The first two acquisitions involved transceiver and module vendors ProLabs and AddOn Networks (see ProLabs, AddOn Networks merge under Halo Technology).

"We are incredibly excited about adding Skylane's cutting-edge product offering and their very talented team to our group," said Matt McCormick, CEO of Halo. "Halo is committed to growing the Skylane business and to continue to meet the demands of its sophisticated and diverse customer base. With the added strength and capabilities derived from our platform, we expect Skylane to thrive as part of the Halo Group."

"Halo has become the global market leader in compatible optics with the expertise to meet the needs of virtually any network architecture requirements, whether enterprise, hyperscale data center, or multinational telco," added Al Aguirre, chairman of the Halo Technology Board of Directors. "The Skylane transaction enhances the group's abilities and further proves the value of the platform as a global growth vehicle."
