Hexatronic buys Baltronic Group OÜ, Toronics for wireless, FTTH expansion

Baltronic Group operates in the Baltics and Scandinavia; Hexatronic describes the Estonia-based company as the largest fiber-optic termination house in the Baltics. Toronics is based in Toronto and acts as a distributor to customers in Canada.

Hexatronic Group AB says it has purchased Baltronic Group OÜ and Toronics Inc. The acquired companies, which share the same founder and chairman, offer active and passive products for fiber to the home (FTTH) and wireless applications. The acquisition price was not revealed.

Baltronic Group operates in the Baltics and Scandinavia; Hexatronic describes the Estonia-based company as the largest fiber-optic termination house in the Baltics. Toronics is based in Toronto and acts as a distributor to customers in Canada. Rommi Roosimaa heads the two companies and will join the Hexatronic Group with a focus on business development in Canada.

“Baltronic Group and Toronics have been trusted partners to us for many years and we are very pleased to welcome the team to the Hexatronic Group,” said Hexatronic CEO Henrik Larsson Lyon. “This acquisition will bring us a strong presence in the Baltics, skills and expertise in wireless network solutions where they have long experience, and gain us a footprint in the Canadian FTTH market as part of our North American growth strategy. Baltronic’s production facility will also increase our production capacity in Europe and bring us closer to a number of important markets and thereby increase our competitiveness.”

Nevertheless, Hexatronic says the acquisition “has no significant impact on Hexatronic’s earnings.” The deal was financed through a combination of a directed share issue to the seller and available cash.
