Padtec names Carlos Raimar Schoeninger as CEO

The board of directors of Brazil-based optical systems house Padtec has named Carlos Raimar Schoeninger as CEO. Shoeninger, who had beens an independent member of the company’s board, replaces interim CEO Argemiro Sousa, Padtec’s chief business officer, who had held the CEO seat since last July. The positioned opened when Manuel Andrade transitioned to CEO of Padtec North America.

Shoeninger, who had served on Padtec’s board since 2016, has more than 20 years of executive experience in telecommunications, electromechanics, oil products, and food sectors. His career includes stops at Telefônica Vivo and, most recently, Globenet Submarine Cables, where he was managing director, corporate development.

“We will continue to exercise our purpose of offering increasingly advanced telecommunications solutions and services to the market in order to make the company even more competitive and accelerate its business in Brazil and abroad,” said Schoeninger. “In addition, the goal is to join forces with customers, suppliers, shareholders, and the capital market at this time that we find an unprecedented demand for quality connectivity in optical fibers, 4G, and the first 5G networks. This is what we intend for the evolution of Padtec.”

In addition to Shoeninger, Sousa, and Andrade, Padtec’s senior management team includes Renato Jordão, CFO and investor relations officer, and CTO Roberto Nakamura.
