Lumentum Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: LITE) has named board member Penny Herscher as chair of its board of directors. She replaces Martin A. Kaplan, who died August 3 (see “Lumentum Board Chairman Martin A. Kaplan passes away”).
Herscher was a founding Lumentum board member upon its spin out from JDSU in 2015 (see “Viavi Solutions, Lumentum begin life as JDSU is no more”). She has more than 15 years of experience as a high-tech CEO in Silicon Valley and more than 10 years of experience serving on public company boards of directors. She currently serves on the boards of Faurecia SA, Verint, and PROS Holdings, Inc., according to Lumentum and of Delphix as well according to her LinkedIn bio. Her tech industry experience includes stints as CEO of FirstRain, a privately held company in the unstructured data analytics space; CEO of Simplex Solutions, a publicly traded electronic design automation company; and in C-level and senior executive positions for Cadence Design Systems, Inc. and Synopsys, Inc.
