Consolidated Communications unveils Fidium Fiber gigabit broadband service

Nov. 17, 2021
Consolidated has launched Fidium in select communities in the states of Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont, with additional communities to be added on a weekly basis.

Consolidated Communications (NASDAQ: CNSL) has debuted its new Fidium Fiber residential gigabit broadband service in certain Northern New England markets. The symmetrical gigabit internet service does not have data caps, the company asserts.

The company is offering Fidium Fiber for $70 per month, including installation and equipment, with no contract required. Other high-speed fiber plans are available as well starting at $35 per month.

Consolidated says it has launched Fidium in “select” communities in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont, with additional communities to be added on a weekly basis.

The service comes with a whole-home mesh WiFi gateway supported with Plume software.

Customers can use the Attune WiFi whole-home management app for network visibility, parental content controls, time of day access control, speed tests, and other functions.

“Consolidated Communications continues to innovate at every turn and our Fidium Fiber internet launch is an exciting step in our company’s transformation,” said Bob Udell, president and CEO of Consolidated Communications. “Fidium is the future of Consolidated’s consumer fiber internet service, answering the need for better home broadband, and giving consumers more choices, control, and personalization. Fidium was born out of our ongoing quest to find new ways to offer our customers, especially those in rural areas, the best in high-speed internet services. We’re offering Fidium as we would want it: with straightforward pricing, no gimmicks or tricks, and friendly, flexible, local service on your terms.”
