Viavi CERTiFi targets cloud-based enterprise test and certification management

Viavi Solutions (NASDAQ: VIAV) has used this week's BICSI Winter Conference as the stage to introduce CERTiFi, a cloud-based system designed to enable enterprise cabling contractors to manage test and certification projects. CERTiFi leverages the company's StrataSync cloud management platform originally designed for network service provider applications.

Viavi asserts that the complexity of enterprise networks will continue to increase as data rates and networks themselves expand. Managers thus will face greater challenges managing the projects they have assigned their direct reports and, potentially, contracted help to accomplish.

CERTiFi aims to overcome this complexity by synchronizing test and certification instruments, such as Viavi's Certifier40G and SmartClass Fiber OLTS-85P, and enabling management via a centralized cloud-based system. Administrators can use the centralized capability to create and distribute project designs, assign projects, pre-load test instruments with tasks and required test criteria, and assimilate, analyze, and share test results in real time, Viavi says. CERTiFi thus helps enable coordination and collaboration among team members, which Viavi asserts improves the chances of success and reduces mistakes and the time required to finish projects.

Viavi offers a variety of interfaces into CERTiFi, including web-based, mobile app (iOS and Android), and on-instrument UI.
