Adept Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq:ADTK), a manufacturer of flexible automation for the telecommunications, fiber optic and semiconductor industries, announced the release of HexSight Version 3.0, with improved performance, programming and support tools. HexSight is a machine vision software product ideal for robot guidance and parts inspection. It offers object location in complex images and adverse lighting environments. HexSight 3.0 will reduce engineering and programming costs, and allow customers to automate guidance applications.

HexSight 3.0 features true geometric object location since it uses parts' geometry to locate them in the field of view, and can resolve challenging applications that involve overlapping or partially touching parts by using contour-based object location. HexSight 3.0 has enhanced multi-model capabilities that allow simultaneous processing of multiple part types in the same image. It has been optimized for ease-of-use and includes automatic model teaching algorithm and multi-threaded execution capabilities. These features result in accurate object location and a flexible programming environment that is based on an open PC standard.
