Anritsu adds CPRI module to Network Master Pro for front-haul testing
Anritsu Co. has developed a new front-haul test approach for fiber and RF measurement to ensure proper installation and operation of high-speed LTE networks. Installing the new CPRI RF module in the Anritsu Network Master Pro MT1000A provides wireless carrier engineers and technicians with a single handheld instrument for LTE CPRI testing and verification for the latest tower-mounted remote radio heads (RRH), the company says.
The instrument conducts measurements up to 10 times faster than existing alternatives, according to Anritsu, and is designed to enable end-users to capture all interfering signals, including intermittent or "bursty" interferers missed by current alternatives.
The addition of a spectrum/spectrogram tune and zoom feature also allows users to zoom in on an area of interest to provide more detailed information for better identification of an interfering signal's origin. The CRI RF module supports all leading RRH radios and enables the MT1000A to conduct RF-based LTE measurements over a fiber-optic CPRI link at ground level. This eliminates the need to climb the tower. Two SFP ports enable CPRI spectrum, CPRI spectrogram, SFP data and CPRI Layer 2 alarms, and optical power measurements.
The module also offers a singlemode optical tap accessory and a combination singlemode /multimode 50-micrometer optical tap accessory, as well as an SFP matching the connected CPRI link rate and optical cables.
