EXFO expands LTB-8 capabilities for network equipment manufacturers
EXFO Inc. (NASDAQ: EXFO, TSX: EXF) has added new power meter, variable attenuator, and switch modules compatible with the recently launched LTB-8 Rackmount Platform (see "EXFO intros laboratory test suite"). These and other LTB-8 modules can be remotely managed through the company's lab test management system, Multilink, with a multi-user interface offering remote multi-module and multi-chassis access across multiple locations.
EXFO believes the compatibility of the new modules with the LTB-8 provides more flexibility to network equipment manufacturers who require a variety of combinations with other optical or transport test modules, such as the company's FTBx-88200NGE Power Blazer, to streamline testing, accelerate time to market, and maximize return on investment.
The FTBx-3500 variable attenuator aids bit error rate (BER) testing and system verification, offering a fully remote user interface and EXFO Multilink compatibility. It also offers a benchtop unit that can be controlled remotely or using the touchscreen.
The FTBx-9150 optical switch, FTBx-9160 MEMS optical switch, and the FTBx-9600 utility module combine to provide a range of switches for a variety of applications, including multiple component testing; bi-directional, automated, remote and signal testing; and equipment sharing. Designed to provide highly-accurate and repeatable fiber-to-fiber switching, these switches can be remotely controlled through the standard LAN or optical GPIB interface using SCPI commands, IVI drivers, and any other automation software.
The FTBx-1750 power meter is designed to deliver fast, accurate, and flexible power measurements for the production floor. Its user-friendly, web-based graphical user interface enables easy configuration of the meter and simple status monitoring, EXFO says. It also can be integrated into an automated test station using the IVI-compliant drivers or available SCPI commands. Remote control is achieved using Telnet over the built-in LAN port or the GPIB-to-USB adapter.
