OptoTest launches OP960 insertion loss and return loss meters
OptoTest unveiled the OP960 insertion loss (IL) and return loss (RL) meters at last month’s OFC 2021. The meters, which the company says are now their flagship IL/RL instruments, provide results more than 30% quicker than the OptoTest OP940, which the company asserts was the fastest IL/RL meter available.
In addition to the speed upgrade, the OP960 offers a larger touchscreen with 35% more screen area and offering 70% more detail. Technicians can test IL and RL simultaneously and see updated results in real time. The OP960 also features built-in Ethernet capability to enable remote operation when driven by OptoTest’s OPL-SDK software development kit. The meters also have a standard USB interface for remote control from local computers.
“The OP960 is a completely new design with upgraded components and circuitry and a more rugged case that is able to withstand hard use in demanding production environments,” said Caroline Connolly, CEO of OptoTest. “We’ve maximized the OP960’s service life and dependability.”
