Sept. 20, 2011
JDSU (NASDAQ: JDSU) (TSX: JDU) has announced what it touts as the first Optical Transport Network (OTN) multichannel test capabilities for 10G, 40G, and 100G networks. The new capabilities are enabled through JDSU’s ONT product line.

JDSU (NASDAQ: JDSU) (TSX: JDU) has announced what it touts as the first Optical Transport Network (OTN) multichannel test capabilities for 10G, 40G, and 100G networks. The new capabilities are enabled through JDSU’s ONT product line, specifically the ONT-503, ONT-506, and ONT-512.

The new multichannel OTN test functions include the ability to simulate the complexities of live network traffic more precisely than competing instruments, JDSU asserts.

“The rapidly growing volume of unpredictable, video-driven traffic has created new risks to service quality and a growing need for more cost-effective transmission and switching technologies like OTN,” said Dr. Lars Friedrich, vice president and general manager, JDSU Communications Test and Measurement business segment. “JDSU’s new multichannel test solution accelerates development of OTN-based systems and enables service providers to have greater confidence in the reliability of their networks.”
