Summary
Optical wavelength services continue to gain momentum in the optical services market. Led by large service providers such as Lumen, Zayo, Verizon and AT&T, Vertical Systems Group noted in its year-end 2022 U.S. Wavelength Services LEADERBOARD, expansion of the U.S. base of wavelength circuits is being driven by double-digit growth for 100+ Gbps connections through 2027. These connections are being used by webscale providers and for data center interconnection. The research firm noted two key trends: installations of 400+ Gbps services are emerging as wavelength providers expand availability and rollout new solutions and retail wavelength circuits continued to outpace wholesale deployments.
Service providers are embracing new technologies and deployment models to deliver the suitable capacity and service offering at the right time to the right location. Service providers will leverage high-speed optical networking equipment that incorporates embedded pluggable optical technology and software to enhance service turnup. However, successful delivery of optical wavelength services will require new test solutions for receiver sensitivity and wavelength analysis covering both multimode and single mode bands which inherently includes the Super C-band.
During this webinar we’ll look at the implications of emerging optical technologies and how to test them:
- rapid deployment models
- embedded and pluggable optical technologies
- extending business services reach
- Managed Optical Fiber Networks (MOFN)
- testing methods and oversights
- ensuring network element performance and reliability
