SEPTEMBER 14, 2007 — Proximion Fiber Systems AB (Stockholm, Sweden) will supply Transmode Systems AB with its DCM-CB dispersion-management tool for installations in the TM-series platform.

The DCM-CB product uses fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) technology and is said to provide low insertion loss. The DCM targets reduced costs in optical networks by circumventing additional amplification. The product is channel-spacing independent, offering continuous dispersion compensation in the entire C-band. It suits 10- and 40-Gbit/sec. optical networks, and higher-capacity systems.

Proximion and Transmode collaborated to demonstrate a 10-Gbit/sec. network over 500-km fiber with Proximion's low-loss, continuous-full-band DCMs at OFC/NFOEC 2006.
