Optical amplifier systems

Lexington, SC-based Pirelli Cables North America is supplying its wavelength-division multiplexing optical amplifier systems to Bell South Corp. Network capacity is increased to 10 gigabits per second by optically multiplexing four optical carrier level 48 channels.
