Compact isolator

The Model cpii compact polarization-insensitive isolator measures 35 mm in overall length and 5.5 mm in diameter. The compact isolator features high isolation and low insertion loss over a broad temperature and wavelength range, according to the manufacturer. Its applications include optical fiber amplifiers; cable TV; high-speed, analog optical systems; and microwave, fiber-optic and radar systems. The model is a passive, non-reciprocal component that is used to suppress optical feedback in laser-based fiber-optic systems and prevent laser output degradation caused by backreflection of inline components. It is offered in 1310- and 1550-nm wavelengths.
