arcutronix's multirate transponders boost optical networks to rates from 100 Mbps to 10 Gbps

DECEMBER 3, 2009 -- arcutronix's FCX4G and FCX10G transponders allow any kind of optical data transport with 3R functionality from 100 Mbps to 10 Gbps.

DECEMBER 3, 2009 -- arcutronix's FCX4G and FCX10G transponders allow any kind of optical data transport with 3R functionality from 100 Mbps to 10 Gbps. They cover services such as SAN interface Fibre Channel 1G, 2G, 4G, 10G, and 10GFEC, as well as Ethernet LAN/WAN from Fast Ethernet to 10G Ethernet, STM1, STM4, STM16, ATM, OTN, and so on.

In combination with expansion card OSX8+1, users may realize flexible CWDM technologies. Applications range from simple point-to-point and repeater applications as far as 180 Gbps in one 19-in., 3U sub-rack. Existing network applications can be easily integrated without major interruptions and permit monitoring via management card, according to the company.
