Tunable laser sources

HP 8168D, HP 8168E (replaces model HP 8168B) and HP 8168F (replaces HP 8168C) tunable laser sources characterize and test fiber-optic components and systems. Model 8168D provides -4-dBm output power from 1490 to 1565 nm and Model HP 8168E offers 0-dBm power in the 1475- to 1575-nm range. HP 8168F provides 8-dBm output power at 1450 to 1590 nm. Standard features include selectable coherence control, wavelength scans with constant output power, internal and external modulation and preinstalled software. Optional features are a built-in optical attenuator, polarization-maintaining fiber and a choice of output connector. The laser sources cost $28,900 to $63,000.
