Global Opticom introduces new tunable optical attenuator

May 31, 2001--The TOA has a wide range of applications, ranging from gain flattening in optical amplifiers to dynamic power leveling in configurable optical networks.

Global Opticom presents its new Tunable Optical Attenuator (TOA). This compact product -- suitable for printed circuit board mounting -- achieves high resolution and repeatability, low insertion loss, and low PDL. Other features include latching capability, hermetic sealing, and feedback signal for attenuation monitoring.

The TOA has a wide range of applications, ranging from gain flattening in optical amplifiers to dynamic power leveling in configurable optical networks. Its wide window of operational wavelength makes it suitable for multi-channel applications.
