Lightscape Networks, an ECI Telecom company, today announced that European broadband service company NTL will be deploying its enhanced XDM intelligent optical platform with 10-Gbit/sec capability.

According to the single architecture approach, the XDM supplies both transparent 10-Gbit/sec transponders and 10-Gbit/sec parts to the matrix. NTL will use the XDM to provide high-speed connectivity between its UK backbone network and other carrier networks. Lightscape Networks' XDM currently provides NTL with a high-speed IP interconnect with affiliate communications and information services providers, as well as a migration path to optical services through its single platform architecture.

NTL offers a range of communications services to homes and business customers throughout the UK, Ireland, Switzerland, France, Germany and Sweden.

Lightscape Networks (Petah Tikva, Israel) is a provider of next-generation intelligent optical networking solutions. For more information, visit the company's Web site at www.lightscapenetworks.com.
