Fast Ethernet fiber transceivers

A line of 100Base-FX singlemode and multimode fiber transceivers can take advantage of full-duplex transmission to increase data rates between devices as great as 20,000 m apart using singlemode fiber. Networks deploying multimode fiber can extend distances to 2000 m apart. The transceivers connect MII nodes via an ST or SC type connector to a fiber-optic medium on both full- and half-duplex modes. The ability to operate in full-duplex mode allows for operation between switches and routers using full-duplex Fast Ethernet. The e-fx-mc01 in ST or SC connectors is designed for multimode use, while the e-fx-mc01 (sm) offers singlemode support. These transceivers comply with the Fast Ethernet ieee 802.3u standard.
