Laser module

The 266 EM-ILM electroabsorption-modulated, isolated laser module enables the transmission of 400,000 conversations up to 600 km without regeneration. Used in ultralong-haul applications, the device transmits 2.5 Gbits/sec over each of eight wavelengths, for a total of 20 Gbits/sec. In most long-haul systems, a laser`s transmission is modulated by a separate device that turns the laser on and off. The 266 EM-ILM modulator is integrated with the laser. The unit features low levels of chirp, compact size, and low cooling and power requirements. The module is priced from $6000.
