ADC Telecommunications Inc., Minneapolis, has signed a joint-venture agreement with Shanghai Posts and Telecommunications Equipment Ltd. The resulting company, Shanghai ADC Telecommunications Equipment Co. Ltd., will be licensed to manufacture and market fiber-optic video transmission equipment from ADC`s United States-based subsidiary, American Lightwave Systems Inc.

Also, ADC Telecommunications and Wilsonville, OR-based Tektronix Inc. have signed a memorandum of understanding to provide broadband network measurement and monitoring solutions to the worldwide telecommunications and cable-TV industries as part of ADC`s broadband service assurance system. The companies plan to develop and manufacture broadband network systems for managing, testing and monitoring physical layer integrity and signal transmission quality.
