Modulator driver

The mtc5515 gallium arsenide medium-power amplifier operates from 30 kHz to 10 GHz and exhibits a flat linear gain response. The self-contained module requires no external components and operates from an +8V and a -5V power supply. The hermetic driver consumes 4.6W of power and operates over an ambient temperature from 0 to +70C. Gain can be adjusted over a 30-dB range by applying an external voltage of -2.5 to +2.0V to the control pin VC. By applying a DC voltage to VT, an offset voltage is added to the output signal via a 1-kW internal resistance. Typical output voltage for a 0.8Vp-p input is 7.5Vp-p . The device features low jitter and open eye, making the component suitable for driving LiNbO3 in applications where a high extinction ratio is required.
