Suburban Cable TV Co. in Oaks, PA, will buy $6 million of adc Telecommunications Inc.`s DV6000 digital video transport equipment. The Minneapolis, MN, supplier`s system will encompass 18,000 mi of plant, passing 1.4 million homes in eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and Delaware. According to the broadband communications division of adc, the 2.4-Gbit/sec fiber-optic transmission system was selected by Suburban Cable due to its ability to deliver true intermediate frequency-based signals, individual time slot switching, and self-healing redundancy.
