HUBER+SUHNER Cube Optics demos 100GBase-LR4 ROSA
HUBER+SUHNER Cube Optics used ECOC in Valencia, Spain, to demonstrate a miniature multi-lambda 100G receiver optical subassembly (ROSA) for CFP4 or QSFP28 optical transceivers. It measures 18x6.5x6 mm and features a typical power consumption of 330 mW.
The ROSA integrates an optical de-multiplexer, four PIN detectors, and an array quad transimpedance amplifier (TIA). It receives parallel 28.3-Gbps optical WDM signals, each propagating over a single optical fiber.
Cube Optics says it released engineering samples to customers in the second quarter of this year (see "Huber+Suhner Cube Optics unveils ROSA for 100GBase CFP4/QSFP28-LR4 optical transceivers"). Production will begin in the fourth quarter of 2015.
Cube Optics became part of HUBER+SUHNER at the end of 2014 (see "Huber+Suhner buys Cube Optics").
