August 16, 2004 Essex, VT -- With the development of the Quick Assembly connectors and tool kit, Suhner Fiberoptic says it has considerably shortened the field termination process for multimode connectors. Within 90 seconds, the connector is connected to the fiber, the epoxy is cured ,and the fiber end faces are polished, the company asserts.

The spliceless process requires only one tool, which can be used with one hand. The termination procedure does not require any special knowledge or training. The spliceless connection guarantees high reliability and superior optical performance. The Quick Assembly Kit can be used with Huber+Suhner Quick Assembly ST or SC multimode connectors. This new field termination process is especially suited for building cable applications.

The Huber+Suhner product range includes components and solutions for applications in telecommunication, wireless and fiber optic technology, energy and signal transmission as well as building and civil engineering systems with polymer technology and cabling applications.
