SEPTEMBER 9, 2009 -- Source Photonics has released new end-to-end commercial application 10GEPON OLT/ONU offerings.

SEPTEMBER 9, 2009 -- Source Photonics Inc., a provider of optical communication products used in telecommunication systems and data communication networks, has released an end-to-end commercial application 10GEPON OLT/ONU offering.

Source Photonics says its new 10GEPON optical network unit (ONU) module is the industry's first version in the SFP+ form factor, which is based on the company's SFP+ platform. The module meets the 10/1G Base PRX30 optical interface requirements and SFF-8431 MSA. The transmitter side real-time signal strength indication and digital diagnostic interface provide advanced features for module applications. The ONU addresses the low power consumption requirement of fiber-to-the-business/node/curb (FTTB/N/C) business applications.

To complete the end-to-end PON offering, the company has also released what it claims is the industry's first 10GEPON optical line terminal (OLT) module in the XFP form factor. The transceiver meets MSA standard XFP form factor and 10/1G Base PRX30 optical interface requirements. The module is based on the first 10GEPON XMD BOSA structure in the industry and can support 10G commercial application requirements via Source Photonics' vertical integration from optoelectronic chips to final transceiver modules.

Both products will be on display at CIOE, Sept. 6-9, 2009, in Shenzhen, China at Source Photonics Booth #469.
