EXFO launches multifiber test system for patchcords and interconnect assemblies

July 5, 2001
July 5, 2001--EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. announced the launch of the IQ-12001-04 Multifiber Test System (MFTS).

EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering Inc. (NASDAQ: EXFO, TSE: EXF) announced the launch of the IQ-12001-04 Multifiber Test System (MFTS). The MFTS, a major upgrade over the previous single fiber test system, performs automated insertion loss and optical return loss measurements on multifiber patchcords and interconnect assemblies. These devices, including hybrid and fan-out patchcords, are commonly used in fiber systems.

EXFO's next-generation automated test system can carry out single or dual-wavelength tests on as many as 24 fibers in a single cable. The MFTS' intuitive graphical user interface renders the complex measurement procedure easy to handle. As a result, even operators with minimal training can be highly productive on the manufacturing floor.

The MFTS will be showcased at the National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference (NFOEC), July 9-11, in Baltimore, Maryland and at InterOpto 2001, July 16-19, in Chiba, Japan.
