Arihant Optics Ltd.,

Secunderabad, India, has inaugurated production of optical fiber in its new Hyderabad facility. The factory will have an initial production capacity of 1 million fiber-km, which the company plans to double during the first of two expansion phases. The second phase will see the company accommodate indigenous manufacturing of its basic raw materials. The new plant will draw preform at a speed of 600 m/min. Nokia Maillefer provided machinery and training for the facility.
