Lumentum TrueFlex® Contentionless Twin 8x24 WSS

Feb. 20, 2019
The TrueFlex Contentionless Twin 8x24 WSS (wavelength-selective switch), the latest addition to Lumentum’s portfolio of ROADM products, enables higher-capacity, higher-performance optical networking applications. The WSS passband filters out wideband noise, relaxing complex filtering requirements. The inherently low insertion loss of an MxN WSS based add/drop structure, compared to a multicast switch (MCS) implementation, means that costly and power-hungry EDFA arrays may be omitted from the node design.
