FEBRUARY 12, 2008 -- FibroLAN (search for FibroLAN), a provider of integrated fiber-optic access systems for enterprises and service providers in metropolitan markets, and EMBARQ Logistics (search for EMBARQ Logistics), Embarq's deployment, distribution, and logistics division, have entered into an agreement via which EMBARQ Logistics will distribute FibroLAN's MetroStar product line.

FibroLAN's flagship product, the MetroStar system, is designed to enable carriers to provide highly reliable broadband services over fiber, ranging from low-end 256-kbit/sec needs to the latest 10G Carrier Ethernet applications with extensive management capabilities. In addition, the MetroStar system can be used to backhaul legacy T1 and new Ethernet traffic from cell sites using the same fiber. FibroLAN offers also CWDM equipment.

"EMBARQ Logistics continually adds to its product portfolio to give those forward-thinking communications carriers a step on the competition," said Brad Clark, vice president of sales and marketing for EMBARQ Logistics. "The FibroLAN product lines will bolster their ability to realize the benefits of Carrier Ethernet transport and services."
