BTI Systems, Powertech IST Telecom to bring Ethernet services to South Africa
JULY 21, 2008 -- BTI Systems (search for BTI Systems), supplier of Packet Optical Edge equipment for the delivery of Gigabit services, today announced a partnership with Powertech IST Telecom, a reseller of telecom network equipment in South Africa. Powertech IST Telecom is a division of Powertech.
Together, the companies will give service providers the ability to quickly build out and scale networks with the BTI 7000 Series Packet Optical Edge platform.
"The African market is continuing to grow, and our service providers need the ability to implement new technologies quickly with immediate revenue-generating capabilities," reports Magatho A. Mello, managing director, Powertech IST Telecom. "BTI Systems' platform is the perfect complement to our existing portfolio and will ensure our customers remain competitive in this expanding and evolving market."
The BTI 7000 Series supports existing service needs with the ability to scale quickly and affordably when the demand for high-bandwidth services grows, say BTI Systems representatives. In burgeoning markets like South Africa, the ability to install platforms that deliver immediate results at a revenue-generating price point is critical to industry competition and service provider success.
"Powertech IST Telecom has consistently demonstrated its dedication to the service provider community by offering tailored packages of technology and support to its customers," notes James Worrall, vice president of sales, EMEA, at BTI Systems. "Powertech IST's commitment to excellence is just one of the reasons BTI has chosen to work together as we expand our global business."
Powertech IST Telecom joins the BTI Partner Program, which enables system integrators and value added resellers to provide carrier-grade Packet Optical equipment with a WDM infrastructure to deliver voice, video, data, and storage connectivity solutions.
