24/7 Mid-Atlantic Network offers transport and Ethernet services

Fiber-optic network services provider 24/7 Mid-Atlantic Network is adding lit services to its repertoire. The company will offer the services to its customers in the Washington, DC, Baltimore, and Ashburn, VA, areas using Ciena’s (NASDAQ: CIEN) 6500 Packet-Optical Platform.

As its name implies, 24/7 Mid-Atlantic Network is expanding its fiber footprint to connect Baltimore, Ashburn, and Washington, DC. Its footprint will include Northern Virginia and the Delmarva Peninsula (see, for example, “24/7 to connect dark fiber backbone to CoreSite DC1 data center”). The new network infrastructure should be operational by the end of this year.

The company will offer a 24-hour turn-up guarantee on 10-Gbps services using its long-haul and metro fiber-optic networks.
