Level 3 will provide Center Colocation, Link Private Line, and CrossRoads Internet access to mpX technology AG to support the company's delivery of multimedia services to its business customers in Germany.

mpX technology is a "full service" Internet business solution provider. The company provides consulting, conception and realization in the following fields: data compression, Internet, wireless local area network and hardware for multimedia applications.

Level 3 operates a 10Gbit/s IP backbone that spans 57 North American markets and 16 European markets and is accessible from more than 550 traffic aggregation points. In a recent ISP backbone test conducted for Network World magazine, Level 3's core IP network delivered 100% uptime, one of only three networks to do so.

Level 3 says it achieved 0% packet loss, and average jitter of only 13 microseconds. While no formal ranking of the backbone was issued, Level 3's IP network proved to be one of the best performing networks on each of the tests conducted.
