Telco Systems intros T-Metro 8100, ATCA blade for 100 Gigabit Ethernet switching

Telco Systems has expanded its coverage of 100 Gigabit Ethernet switching with a pair of product introductions. The new products include the T-Metro 8100 service aggregation platform as well as the T-ATCA 510 AdvancedTCA switch blade.

Telco Systems has expanded its coverage of 100 Gigabit Ethernet switching with a pair of product introductions. The new products include the T-Metro 8100 service aggregation platform as well as the T-ATCA 510 AdvancedTCA switch blade.

T-Metro 8100 enables aggregation of multiple services over 1, 10, and 100 Gigabit Ethernet port rates. The system will enable carrier-grade service scalability and resiliency, says Telco Systems. Its features also will support desired quality of service as well as meet operations, administration, and maintenance (OAM) requirements, the company adds.

Telco Systems expects service providers to use the platform to deliver cloud-based business Ethernet and mobile backhaul services using star or ring topologies. In addition to supporting Carrier Ethernet 2.0, MPLS, and IP (Layer 3), the T-Metro 8100 supports OpenFlow, NETCONF, and YANG to fit within a software-defined networking (SDN) environment.

Meanwhile, the T-ATCA 510 is designed to enable rapid development of telecom applications, including LTE evolved packet core (EPC), IP-based multimedia services (IMS), and metro Ethernet aggregation service routing. The blade also is SDN-enabled.
